Hewletts Mill is an historic converted watermill set in 7 acres of beautiful secluded grounds in the lovely Somerset countryside near the small market town of Castle Cary and only 6 miles from the popular and cultural centre of Bruton. Hewletts Mill dates back to 1780’s, even though there is mention of a mill on this site in the Doomsday book.
Hewletts Mill is our cherished family home; it can be made available for rental on a limited basis to guests who would like to experience the pleasures of this unique property. We also offer 3/4 Kingsize en suite bedrooms on a Bed and Breakfast basis.
Hewletts Mill is relaxed and dog friendly. A great place to chill out with friends and have family fun. There’s lots for children to do here; tennis court, outdoor heated swimming pool (May-September), wooden tree house with zip wire, Superking trampoline with safety net and large football net on the main lawn.
It’s a wonderful house in which to entertain, with a well equipped kitchen, great rooms, lots of space and big dining tables that seat 14, both in the galleried hall and out by the pool. There is a pizza oven for your use or you can experience a more intimate dinner (for up to 6) in front of the warming fire in the Provence inspired logia. Help yourself to fresh vegetables and herbs in season from a well stocked veg garden.
